Politician Warns Americans to Stop Buying ‘Made in China’ Products

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) urged his fellow Americans to take back some power from the Communist country of China by refusing to purchase its goods.
During a showing of Fox’s “Sunday Night in America,” Waltz discussed why he thinks American corporations need to “defund” China.
He discussed how businesses in the United States are so reliant on the communist country that they are drunk on Chinese dollars.” He also warned that giving money to China is a “national security issue.”
“If you do business with a Chinese company, if you do business in China, you allow their researchers into your labs,” Waltz explained. “They are going to steal your intellectual property. … It doesn’t make them bad people or bad businesses or bad Chinese students. Their government is forcing them to do so. They will set up a competitor, subsidize it, put you out of business and then dominate that market.”
Under President Donald Trump, the United States was becoming more self-reliant and the former president was determined to stop China from taking advantage of American companies. Trump realized how dangerous China’s infiltration into American society became and took steps to stop it.
“The United States wants an open and constructive relationship with China, but achieving that relationship requires us to vigorously defend our national interests,” Trump stated in a speech in May 2020.
China is known for its dictatorships and desire to crush any notion of free thinking.
Large amounts of products offered in the United States come from China. In return, Americans fund the communist country whether they realize it or not.
“Historians are going to look back at this and say, ‘You funded your greatest competitor. You funded, America, your demise.’ And we are drunk on Chinese dollars — from Wall Street to the NBA to academia to our politicians across the board,” Waltz added. “Instead of defunding police, how about we defund dictatorships?”
“[M]y message to every group I talk to is when you see ‘Made in China,’ put it down,” Waltz continued. “It’s not just a jobs and a human rights issue. It’s a national security issue. We have got to bring those supply chains back home.”
Like Waltz, other Republicans are concerned about the amount the U.S. relies on other countries. Whether it be oil, food, electricity, or materials, Waltz is pushing for the U.S. to move towards a more self-sufficient sustainable future.
